The event takes place at the Atlantic Grill in Rye on Wednesday, November 8, from 12-2 p.m.

CelebrateHER marks the commencement of a new educational series aimed at addressing the unique obstacles and trials faced by women in business. This inaugural event will feature a diverse panel of speakers, each an expert in their respective fields – non-profit organizations, large corporations, the arts, and small business ownership. The purpose of this series is to equip women with the necessary tools and resources that can aid them in achieving success in their desired profession. The shared experiences and stories of panelists speaking at this exclusive luncheon will serve as a source of inspiration for our community.

“It’s great to have businesses like First Seacoast Bank so eager to help sponsor this event,” said Liz LaBrecque, Events Manager of The Chamber Collaborative of Greater Portsmouth. “Diversity in an economy is always better, and we want to collectively showcase groups that have felt marginalized in the past and help them grow within their business and industry. It’s in the interest of the overall economy here within the Seacoast to promote that and further prosper inclusive growth.”

First Seacoast Bank is proud to be a part of this important endeavor dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of women in business within the Seacoast region. This gathering provides an opportunity to build connections, network with peers, and acknowledge each other's significant achievements. Following the panel presentation, the aforementioned awards ceremony will commence.

“It’s an essential part of First Seacoast Bank’s mission to lift fellow community business organizations and leaders and play a small role in shining the spotlight on those making the communities that we call home such a special place,” said James R. Brannen, President & CEO of First Seacoast Bank. “We are thrilled to support this event and its impressive and worthy cause by showcasing inspiring women business leaders here in the Seacoast.”

Cornerstone VNA Announces 110 Giving Challenge

Rochester, NH:  2023 marks 110 years for Cornerstone VNA, a local nonprofit home health and hospice organization, and to celebrate this important milestone, they are embarking on a special giving challenge. Through their 110 Giving Challenge, their goal is to get 110 donations in the last 110 days of 2023.

All donations received through this challenge will support uninsured patients, as well as programs with the greatest need. This includes critical programs that receive little to no insurance reimbursement, such as Palliative Care, which provides care for patients with chronic illnesses, and remote monitoring and support for high-risk patients through their Telehealth program.

According to Erika Lee, Advancement Director at Cornerstone VNA, “Throughout our milestone anniversary year, we have been recognizing our healthcare heroes through history and celebrating our continued efforts to go above and beyond for those we serve.” Lee adds, “This special Giving Challenge is an exciting way to honor our 110th year and will help keep us moving forward in providing the very best care to our patients of all ages.”

As an added bonus, FedPoint, administrator of large-scale insurance and benefit programs, has partnered with Cornerstone VNA to provide $11,000 in matching funds. This means that all donations will be matched, effectively doubling gifts made through the challenge.

Julie Reynolds, President/CEO of Cornerstone VNA shares, “We have developed a wonderful partnership with FedPoint, and we are thrilled to have their generous matching support to double donations made to Cornerstone VNA.” Reynolds continues, “With the kind support of FedPoint and our donors, I know we can reach our goal of 110 donors in 110 days and raise $22,000 and beyond!”

To participate in Cornerstone VNA’s 110 Giving Challenge visit cornerstonevna.org/110-challenge or send a check to Cornerstone VNA, 178 Farmington Road, Rochester, NH 03867, and include 110 Giving Challenge in the check memo.

NHFCU's July Employee of the Month

Congratulations to our newest Employee of the Month, Liliya Kroll! Liliya was nominated by a co-worker who acknowledged the special way Liliya works with and communicates with our members. Liliya's coworker said she has a lovely manner when speaking with members both on the phone or in person. She is not afraid to ask questions, and recently this paid off by helping a member to identify that the $50,000 wire they were trying to send was a scam. Liliya saved our member the loss of a significant amount of money!

    Congratulations, Liliya!”

The third 5K in the race series will occur on Sunday, October 29th at Biddeford’s Clifford Park. Starting at 10am, this Halloween-themed run/walk will feature prizes for the best costumes and will benefit Apex Youth Connection, an after-school program for kids in grades 5-12. NHFCU's Employee of the Month

Congratulations to our newest employee of the month, Cindy Phillips! Cindy was nominated for her recent work on our Hero’s Accounts campaign. Once she learned the basic elements we planned to offer (and to whom), Cindy jumped into action immediately to get the job done so we could get the word out as soon as possible. She handled a million little details (and is still doing so!), working tirelessly on the project. During the past month, Cindy also organized an impromptu celebration for our 100,000th account, and organized Member and Employee Appreciation Day with Kona Ice. Cindy has made a big impact in her short time with NHFCU – she joined us in February.

    Congratulations, Cindy!
