The Heron Rookery

Formed in 1994 with 50 Charter members, the Greater Barrington Chamber of Commerce is an active partner in the business community. The Chamber is responsible for many outstanding events to include the Peeper 5K Run/Walk held in May which is a USATF sanctioned race; the annual Golf Tournament held in June, the Chamber BINGO held in September. The Chamber offers annual scholarship awards to graduating high school seniors of Chamber members. And, each year, the Chamber proudly honors our Citizen of the Year and our Business Leader of the Year at the Annual Dinner held in November.

The Chamber Bylaws help to define the purpose of the Greater Barrington Chamber of Commerce as well as set required guidelines for non-profit 501(c)6 organizations. On June 6, 2012, the members voted to accept the revisions to the Chamber Bylaws as presented at the Membership Luncheon. Below you will find a copy of those revisions. PEEPER 5K RUN/WALK A HUGE SUCCESS!

A record year for the Chamber’s event – 500 registered runners! The weather was perfect, the hospitality table was covered with great food, and the field behind Calef’s was filled with well over 600 people. Thank you to all who volunteered to help make this the best in the history of the event. Next year – 20^th Annual Peeper 5K. For pictures of the event, visit www.ronstjean.com .

ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Chamber’s 20th Annual Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, June 7th at Nippo Lake Golf Club, 88 Stagecoach Rd, Barrington. This year’s theme is “The Roaring Twenties”. This event is the Chamber’s largest fundraiser. Sponsorships and donations are needed to make this a success. And, of course, players. New Prize Category – BEST DRESSED TEAM. And, in addition to being a TEE or GREEN sponsor, we’ve added SAND TRAP sponsors as well. Come join in the fun…great barbecue lunch for players.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS RECEPTION

The Chamber’s Scholarship Reception will be held on Tuesday, June 11^th at Nippo Lake Golf Club, 88 Stagecoach Rd, Barrington. This event is held to honor of the Scholarship recipients chosen to receive the awards which are funded by the Chamber’s Peeper 5K Run/Walk. Click HERE to view the invitation. BINGO BASH

The 1^st Annual BINGO Bash will be held on Sept 19^th at the Rochester Country Club from 5:30-8:30pm. This fundraising event is open to the public at no charge. Chamber members only will be able to purchase table space to promote their business product or service. Chamber Member Sponsors of this event will have prime space inside the BINGO “hall” and will be calling one of the BINGO games. Lots of door and raffle prizes will be available. Exhibitor space is limited so download the REGISTRATION FORM now.
CITIZEN AND BUSINESS LEADER OF THE YEAR

Each year, the Chamber chooses a Citizen and a Business Leader of the Year. These individuals are honored at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner in November. “GREATER BARRINGTON CHAMBER CHATS”

The Chamber television show can be seen monthly on Metrocast Channel 12. This show has three segments, two which are dedicated to interviewing Chamber members, and a third which gives Town officials an opportunity to education the community about the Town departments. The show will air on Monday at 6pm and Wednesday at 7pm, as well as throughout the month at different times and offers the viewers the opportunity to learn more about our Chamber, its members, and the Town of Barrington.
