The Greater Barrington Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary partnership of business and professional people working together to advance the economic and social growth and well being of its members and the community.
Welcome to the
Greater Barrington Chamber of Commerce

Formed in 1994 with 50 Charter members, the Greater Barrington Chamber of Commerce is an active partner in the business community.  The Chamber is responsible for many outstanding events such as the Peeper 5K Run/Walk held in May which is a USATF sanctioned race; the annual Golf Tournament held in June, and the Chamber BINGO held in September.  The Chamber offers annual scholarship awards to graduating high school seniors of Chamber members.  And, each year, the Chamber proudly honors our Citizen of the Year and our Business Leader of the Year at the Annual Dinner held in November.


 

2014 Peeper 5K Run/Walk20th Annual Peeper 5K Run/Walk, May 3

The race is held the first Saturday of May. Runners gather behind the post office on Mallego Road with walk-in registrations beginning at 8:00 a.m. This USAT&F sanctioned race begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. Parking is located at the Barrington Elementary School. Bicycles, roller blades and dogs are not allowed in the race. Download registration form.

Consider volunteering for this extremely important event. We need 30-40 volunteers to make this event successful.

Scholarship Awards

The Greater Barrington Chamber of Commerce sponsors the annual college scholarship program, which is fully funded by the annual Peeper 5K Run/Walk held in May. Scholarship applications are available to children of Chamber members who plan to further their education. Two $1,000 scholarships and one $500 scholarship are awarded each year to graduating high school seniors and those currently enrolled in a higher learning institution. Applications are reviewed by the Chamberís Scholarship Committee. Grade point average, extracurricular school activities and community service, as well as the studentís future plans for continuing education and community service are considered for eligibility.

A Scholarship Awards Reception will be held on June 10 at Nippo Lake Golf Club to honor those chosen for these awards.

Golf Tournament

This annual event will be held at Nippo Lake Golf Club on Friday, June 6. Registration and continental breakfast starts at 7 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8.

This event funds the operating expenses of the Greater Barrington Chamber of Commerce. Supported by sponsorships, please contact the Chamber office at (603) 664-2200 to be a part of this exciting event.

Greater Barrington Chamber Chats

The Chamber television show can be seen monthly on Metrocast Channel 12. This show has three segments, two which are dedicated to interviewing Chamber members, and a third that gives Town officials an opportunity to educate the community about the Town departments. The show will air on Monday at 6 p.m. and Wednesday at 7 p.m., as well as throughout the month at different times. It also offers the viewers the opportunity to learn more about our Chamber, its members, and the Town of Barrington.
